WHEN

Italian Journeys was founded in 1997 and has been providing bespoke luxury travel to Italy for discerning clients from all over the world, bringing together a wonderful collection of hotels and a long-established network of the best people on the ground to ensure a unique experience for travellers. In 2010 Italian Journeys joined Protravel International who is now part of the Travel Leaders Group, one of the largest travel companies in the US.

WHO WE ARE

We are a young and innovative team of Italians from varied Italian regions and bring together a wealth of in-depth knowledge of all areas of Italy. We have all travelled extensively throughout Italy and experienced its contrasting culture, people and culinary delights in all its forms. This knowledge and the experiences we have gained and enjoyed throughout the years helps us to deliver a unique experience to our clients.

HOW WE HAVE BUILT UP OUR SUCCESFUL BUSINESS

Our success had been achieved through our exceptional in-depth knowledge of the territory of Italy.
Our approach in choosing the best professionals on the ground who share our philosophy and values. All the experiences we promote have been tried and tested; all our suppliers have been carefully vetted. We consider our suppliers’ as part of the team.
Last but not least: our insatiable desire to never being ordinary: to aim in finding unique ideas - creative and innovative, to renew how & what we sell, to find new products with no limits. A good example is our new luxury yacht program that includes Sea, Land and Air experiences. And our new luxury villa program that includes 800 villas throughout Italy with fully catered options if required. Our villa programme can found on a separate website and the yacht programme on an online platform.

We consider ourselves “Experience Designers”, and not just travel providers.

WHY WE AND OUR COMPANY ARE UNIQUE

Our business model or approach is shaped by our desire to provide the best experience for our clients - this is the focus of our endeavour.
Fishing for unique ideas and exciting clients with what’s on offer in our portfolio. Apart from the selling process we provide a concierge service from the moment the clients land in Italy until the time they depart. This is managed by i-message, whatsapp, viber or email. The client can send a simple message to us and we respond within minutes with full details of their request. Typical requests can be: book me a table for dinner tonight at a restaurant with views of Rome, add an extra luxury boat tour for tomorrow morning, my wife lost her passport, find a hospital for my husband, we are on call for any requests and the beauty of this service is that they only need to talk to one person throughout their trip to solve or help with any issues or requests they have. Our clients rave about this service as they feel they can talk or even chat to a person that knows their exact travel schedule. With this method we also stay in touch with clients to remind them of their daily services, pick up times and also the name of the guide or driver that will meet them. We are in the “thought process” of creating a unique app to stay in touch with our clients during their trip.

We are at the Rome Airport on our way back to NY. We cannot thank you enough for all of your attention and assistance before and during our stay in Roma. The transfers to and from the airport were on time and the driver was so accommodating (he gave a tour and stopped at a location for perfect pictures on the way to our hotel). The Hotel was absolutely beautiful! Our suite was fantastic and the hotel staff were extremely attentive. Finally, our Scavi Tour was unbelievable - truly a once in a lifetime experience

All the arrangements with Italian Journeys were quite wonderful and made it far nicer than it could have possibly been had we done it any other way. We are so appreciative of the care that was so evidently taken to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Our guides were so helpful and informed and made all the difference in our experience. The staff at our hotel in Positano were extremely gracious welcoming and helpful. I must however single out our driver Salvatore. He drove us everywhere up and down the Amalfi coast ( on those heart stopping cliff hugging roads!). I cannot imagine anyone being kinder, more considerate, or more helpful. There is no way we would have enjoyed ourselves half as much without his safely and comfortably seeing us to each destination. It was a fabulous trip and we thank you for all of your assistance. The guides and excursions were all first rate. The boat excursions in Amalfi were also very fun. The captain had two young crewmen who explained things to us in English. We had a nice mix of sightseeing and swimming. We also had lunch at a really nice restaurant that you could only get to by boat. We ate there twice because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks again for all of your help. Ellen - Just quick note to say our trip was truly amazing. I get nervous before a trip that I might have set my expectations too high but for this trip Henry and I loved every bit of it. Each guide and driver was extraordinary. They each had their own unique qualities but each one was so fun to be with and to learn from. They all went to making for a great time. Although a fully packed itinerary we wouldn’t have wanted to miss a thing. As I told you earlier our hotels were amazing as well. Exactly what we wanted. Beautiful with great locations. Each hotel also upgraded our rooms. The Lake Garda hotel put us in a suite that was spacious and lovely. The hotel in Rome put us in the top floor with a terrace. Wow!!
